Scunthorpe United signing Isaiah Osbourne has explained turning down Port Vale.
The former Aston Villa midfielder had been training with Port Vale before agreeing terms with Scunthorpe.
Osbourne told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: "I was going to sign at Port Vale but there was a bit of a misunderstanding within the contract among other things.
"I knew 'Ned' from Forest and when he spoke to me I thought coming here was a chance not to turn down.
"It's funny that our next game is against Port Vale, you couldn't write it really. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be playing against them.
"I don't know what kind of reaction the coaching staff there will give me.
"I think it will be positive because when I spoke to the manager there he was happy for me.
"When I said I wasn't going to be joining them he said that he hoped I'd get a good team because I was a good lad and a good player. He wished me all the best."
