Scunthorpe United boss Nigel Adkins is delighted with the loan signing of Liverpool defender Jack Hobbs.

"Jack is a young player who we are looking forward to bringing into the club for the rest of the season," said Adkins.

"He has trained with the Liverpool first team all season.

"He is a very composed player and we want to bring him into the fold to help us achieve what we want to do - and that is retain Championship status.

"I have got several good contacts at Liverpool with players I used to play with.

"Jack was somebody we talked about back in November time, but Liverpool wanted to keep him then because he was involved with the squad and since then he has played in the first team."
