Scunthorpe United are already in talks with West Ham United about extending the loan of Freddie Sears.
Sears set up the last-gasp winner for team-mate Michael O'Connor as the Iron were 1-0 winners against Hull City at Glanford Park.
Boss Ian Barraclough told BBC Radio Humberside: "I've already spoken to West Ham and they know he's being looked after very well.
"He's brought us something different and it's important we keep someone like that hear for a little while."
