SCOUTING REPORT: Top 5 Premier League kids starring on-loan in Championship

Joe Baker highlights five young guns worth following in the Championship on-loan from Premier League clubs.

 Patrick Bamford (Chelsea) - Middlesbrough

Bamford is a player who has been a hit wherever he has been. The striker is currently on loan at Middlesbrough from Premier league giants Chelsea, where the 21 year-old will stay until January. However, it was his form at Championship rivals Derby County last season which proved he has the goal-scoring touch at this level. Signing for the Rams in January, Bamford was an instant success, scoring eight goals in 21 games. His last goal of the season away to Blackpool was his 25th in all competitions - 17 of those came in an even more impressive spell at MK Dons, which subsequently tempted Derby boss Steve McClaren to take on the England U21 international. If he continues his amazing form, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho could be forced to give Bamford his chance, particularly with injury thinning his striker stocks in recent weeks.

Jack Butland (Stoke City) - Derby County

Butland is currently on loan at high flyers Derby County, where again Steve McClaren looked towards youth for inspiration. Despite having a difficult period on loan at Leeds United, this time round Butland will have the chance to prove himself in a team which narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League in May. He has already featured for the England senior team, but is a more prominent figure in the 21's where he is number 1 choice. The 21 year-old is no doubt one of the hottest prospects in England, and he is seen as a long term replacement for Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart.

Jordan Ibe (Liverpool) - Derby County

This young winger looks to be a very bright talent for the future. The 19 year-old is on loan at the Rams where he has been tied down to a season long deal. Birmingham City saw first hand why everybody is raving about him. He scored the opening goal from 20 yards out in a 3-2 win over Millwall and was involved in City's last day of the season drama against Bolton. Ibe has already scored two goals in nine appearances and if he keeps up that rate, he is likely to hit double figures before the curtain closes on the Championship season. Brendan Rodgers is a huge admirer of Ibe and he could be given a chance next season.

Tom Ince (Hull City) - Nottingham Forest

Tom Ince knows the Championship inside out after becoming a star player for Blackpool under his manager and father Paul. After a spell with Crystal Palace last season, he signed permanently for Hull over the summer. Seeing his game time limited under Steve Bruce, he has joined Forest until December. Ince is a hot prospect, with his crossing, dribbling and shooting ability all major parts of an impressive armoury. At Forest, he will be hoping he can become centre stage once again after the success he enjoyed with Blackpool. Forest have made a good start, although have tailed off recently and Stuart Pearce will be relying on the former Liverpool academy product to help steer the team towards the promotion places. Joao Teixiera (Liverpool) - Brighton

Teixiera has made an impressive start to life at the Amex stadium. He scored in his first start for Brighton in their 2-1 victory over Leeds. He hit the net again in their next fixture for the same score line in a win over Bolton. The 21 year-old finds pockets of space in between the midfield and defence and uses his intelligence and skill to good effect. He is another Liverpool player tipped for a big future. Teixiera has received high appraisal from ex-Liverpool stalwart and fans favourite Sami Hyypia, who is the Seagulls current head coach. Hyypia said he has 'a very good mentality' and believes that 'we have a very good player in our side'. Brendan Rodgers will be keeping a very close eye on the Portuguese, and with his current form, he will not fail to attract attention.
