Scotland suffer raft of absentees

Derby's Stephen Pearson has been suffering from a hernia problem and will not feature while Celtic's Barry Robson has also called off.

They join Rangers quartet Barry Ferguson, Christian Dailly, Lee McCulloch and Alan McGregor on the sidelines. Skipper Ferguson and McCulloch are both struggling with ongoing injuries, ankle and thigh respectively, and have pulled out. Veteran Dailly meanwhile broke a toe in Saturday's win over Hibs but is expected to be fit for this weekend's Old Firm clash.

In their places comes Cardiff City's engine-room man Gavin Rae, who has been called up to bolster a depleted midfield.
