Scotland national team manager Craig Levein has targeted the 'Barcelona style' as the way he wants to play his football.
The Catalan giants took all before them last season, winning both the Spanish La Liga and UEFA Champions League, and playing breathtaking football to get the results.
Now, Levein wants his Scottish side to follow the example set by Barca and Spanish football in general whilst developing the youngsters in a similar way to the World Champions.
"It's pretty evident from the way Barcelona and Spain are playing at the moment, that's the way you'd want your team to play," he told the Scotsman.
"They're great to watch. It's certainly the best football I've ever seen. If we're going to start with this blank sheet, then why not try to emulate the best?
"This is a generational thing. This isn't going to make a difference overnight. It's not like having a cookie-cutter and just replicating the Spanish model.
"At the moment, we don't have a scouting system as such. We have a trial system when kids get to 15 to see who our best players are. I think that's ridiculous. The clubs have the players at 10 and 11, so we should know at 11 who the best right back in Scotland is, for example. What we'll try to do is give the kids all the tools necessary to play any style of football.
"We'll teach them to play from the back, to protect the ball, to take the ball in tight situations. If you keep playing back to front, the midfielders don't get used to playing with other guys round about them. That allows you to play any way you want."
