Former Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari says Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is obsessed by the Ballon d'Or.

Scolari says Ronaldo is "sad" that he's been overlooked by the judges for Barcelona rival Lionel Messi.

"Ronaldo is the complete professional and should have won this award three times," former Chelsea boss Scolari declared.

"He has an incredible will to win. It defines Ronaldo. He never wants to be second. He always fights to be first."
