Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari was delighted with the performances of Didier Drogba and Branislav Ivanovic in last night's 4-0 Carling Cup victory over Portsmouth. Drogba made his first start of the season while £9million Serbian defender Ivanovic was given a long-awaited first-team debut.
"Didier was better than the last two games when he came off the bench," said Scolari.
"Now he improves and it is better. In the future maybe we will see the same Didier as last season. Now I am happy. There is not a problem in his knee and his mind is clear, he did very well for me.
"Ivanovic did very well. He marks very well, jumps very well, controls the right-back position. He is different than (Juliano) Belletti and (Jose) Bosingwa [who are attacking right-backs] but for us it is important."
