Chelsea boss Phil Scolari admits he's at a loss to explain their poor away form in Europe.

In Bordeaux for tonight's Champions League clinker, Scolari admitted: "We definitely need to qualify.

"We lost against Roma three weeks ago and tomorrow is the second chance."

Chelsea have failed to duplicate their impressive Premier League away form in European matches.

Scolari has overseen seven straight wins on his domestic league travels. But Chelsea have not won away in Europe for 13 months.

He added: "Maybe it's because we are more adapted to play away in England than in the Champions League that explains the difference in results."
