Scolari admits Chelsea defence "worries me, we're frail"

Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari admits he has big concerns over his defence after their 3-1 defeat to Roma.

To cap a miserable night, Deco was sent off. Boss Scolari rapped: "The defence worries me, we were frail.

"We did not play very well and we made mistakes at critical times and gave Roma their two best chances.

"They scored two goals and killed the game. If you remember the first goal, the ball was with us.

"Then nobody followed Panucci at the goal.

"They controlled the game with five men in midfield after that.

"If you score first against Roma, maybe you have a good chance. But the second goal killed us."

Christian Panucci's opener was followed by a double from striker Mirko Vucinic. John Terry pulled one back.

Chelsea are only a point clear of Roma and Bordeaux in Group A, with a tricky trip to France next.

Scolari added: "When you concede three goals and make this many mistakes, you need to think about the next game and work out why it happened.

"Maybe we'll need to be more relaxed."
