The surprise retirement from international football from Mark Schwarzer has opened the door for a new number one for the Australian national team.
The 41-year old Chelsea goalkeeper has closed the curtain on his Socceroos playing days and now new manager Ange Postecoglou will have work out who he uses out of the likes of Borussia Dortmund's Mitch Langerak, Club Brugge youngster Mat Ryan, Adelaide United's Eugene Galekovic and even Reading's Adam Federici and Liverpool reserve Brad Jones.
"There's an opportunity there for everyone," Postecoglou said ahead of next week's friendly with Costa Rica.
"Both Mitch Langerak and Maty Ryan are exceptional young goalkeepers....I'm very keen to get them both in.
"The goalkeeping position is a very important, highlighted by looking at the impact Mark Schwarzer has had on our national team.
"There's an opportunity there for them but not just them. They get first crack at it but Eugene Galekovic has had a fantastic start to the season and he's a keeper I rate highly.
"At the moment all I'm offering people is an opportunity and those two get that opportunity and it's up to who takes it."
