Scholes not happy with Shaw as Man Utd edge past Anderlecht

Paul Scholes blamed Luke Shaw after Manchester United conceded against Anderlecht tonight.

Sofiane Hanni equalised for the Belgians in the 32nd minute of their Europa League quarter-final against United at Old Trafford, and according to club legend, Scholes should have done better to prevent the leveller.

"I think there's a few (mistakes for the goal)," he told BT Sport.

"If you go straight back to the pass I think Luke Shaw is a good five to 10 yards behind the other back three which is not where he should be.

"He should have been playing him offside, he should have been stepping up early.

"He should be up with Daley Blind there and (Antonio) Valencia, but he isn't.

"United should do better."

Thankfully for the left-back, United went on to win 2-1 on the night and 3-2 on aggregate thanks to a lovely Marcus Rashford goal in extra-time.
