Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has spoken of his infamous summer tweet after being blocked from joining Tottenham.
The Frenchman has since mended his differences with Saints management.
But he recalled to France Football: "I thought: 'I just played in the World Cup after two good seasons in Premier League. I always shut up. I can't stay in a team that will play for salvation. I need to reach a new level.' So I told them: 'You don't respect me, you don't respect your words, you treat me like cattle.'
"They defended their interest and I defended mine. My tweet after the meeting? I know there are opportunities you can't miss. That is why I was upset. After that meeting, I had to show I disagreed.
"With that Tweet I wanted people to understand the situation. In 5 seconds I saw what social networks are. It is like a bomb. That tweet was a key moment in my career."
