Guillermo Barros Schelotto has signed a new deal with Columbus Crew which will see him play a fourth season with the club.
The 2008 MLS MVP and MLS Cup winner's future at the club has been clouded with uncertainty ever since the end of last season but he has decided to sign on for another season in a major boost for the club.
Crew coach Robert Warzycha was delighted to have secured the former Argentina international after a drawn out process.
"It was a long process, but we're very happy to be able to re-sign Guillermo for this season," Warzycha said.
"He's obviously been a very good player for this team and I'm glad we got him signed in time for the start of preseason camp."
The ex-Boca Juniors star has enjoyed a stellar three season for Crew, appearing 73 times for 24 goals.
