Christoph Metzelder has indicated that the prospect of playing MLS is a very interesting one.
The Schalke defender suggests he will not be given a new contract for next season and is pondering the possibility of making the move to North America's top flight.
"I will definitely leave Schalke, which I do not believe that the club would renew the contract," the 32-year old centre-back told Reviersport.
"(MLS is) very, very interesting, also, to take a personal experience."
Metzelder, who spent about seven years at Borussia Dortmund up until 2007, joined Schalke from Real Madrid in 2010. He has made 47 appearances for the German national team.
