USA boss Juergen Klinsmann has confirmed that Jermaine Jones and Herculez Gomez are out of his side for Tuesday's World Cup qualifier against Panama.
The US host the Panamanians in Seattle for the chance to go top of CONCACAF's hexagonal group but will be without Schalke midfielder Jones (concussion) and new Tijuana signing Gomez (knee).
"We obviously take things seriously, we don't want to do anything risky," Klinsmann said at a press conference on Monday regarding Jones.
"So we'll just be cautious and keep him out tomorrow night's game, and he will be back for the game in Salt Lake City (against Honduras next week)."
Gomez, who recently signed with Tijuana from Santos Laguna, has been struggling with a minor knee problem.
The USA sit second in their group, equal on points with Costa Rica who take on third-placed Mexico at the Azteca Stadium on Tuesday.
