Schalke-bound Nastasic insists no bad blood with Man City's Pellegrini

Matija Nastasic has made it clear that there is no rift between he and Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini.

The Serbian defender is set to join German club Schalke on loan for the remainder of the season with the view to a permanent move once he completes a medical.

Nastasic has revealed that moving to the Bundesliga looks to be his best chance of playing regular football at present, playing down claims that he and Pellegrini had fallen out.

"No, everything was all right," said Nastasic, when asked on Sky Sports News whether there were issues with Pellegrini.

"I think that is the best option for me and I hope everything will be all right.

"It was hard for me. In six months I didn't play one game. I wanted to go because for my career it is best at the moment to play a lot of games."

The former Fiorentina man added: "I had a couple of options but, with my agent also, I decided with the club, and Man City, that it was the best option, Schalke.

"At the moment it is a loan and at the end of the season we will see what will happen."
