Scattergun Reading striker Lita: I'll never hide

Reading striker Leroy Lita says he was always confident of scoring against Italy in last night's 2-2 draw.

The England U21 bolter missed two glaring chances before he put his team 2-0 ahead midway through the first-half.

"I wanted to make sure I got my name on the scoresheet," said Lita.

"I missed a couple of chances, but I'm not going to hide. I will always be there to try again.

"We're disappointed not to win because we had a lot of chances and it was a great start.

"Italy played well in the second half but maybe we dropped too deep let them back in it."

England now need a victory in their final group game against Serbia on Sunday, and Lita concluded, "We're still in the tournament.

"The lads are going to stick together, be positive and we've still got a chance going into the last game."
