Sarvas relishing LA Galaxy role in Beckham absence

Marcelo Sarvas has grabbed his chance with the LA Galaxy since David Beckham has been injured.

The Brazilian midfielder has been deputising for the injured English veteran with some fine performances for the reigning MLS champions for whom he has been regularly starting for since June.

Sarvas has formed a good partnership with fellow Brazilian Juninho in midfield and admits his adjustment to MLS play has been made easier by being there with a person he can understand from both a football and language perspective.

"I feel good, I feel at home here," said Sarvas. "I feel at home with the guys and on the field. I feel like I've been here many years so it's good for me.

"We (Juninho and I) solve many problems just by talking during the game. It goes two ways, he's helped me and I've helped him. It's something that is mutual and natural.

"We help each other with our position and if there is something that he doesn't see during the game then I do my best to put him in a good spot. We both help one another."
