Santi Cazorla has revealed his regret of not saying goodbye to the Arsenal supporters after his exit from the club last season.

The 34-year-old has enjoyed a resurgent season at Villarreal which has led to a recall to the Spain national team.

And he still harbours some regret at not being able to say farewell to the Emirates.

"I have always noted the warmth of the Arsenal fans," he said on Tuesday.

"If there is one thing I have taken from there it is the warmth of the people, and the worst thing is that I wasn't able to say goodbye to them on the pitch."
