San Jose Earthquakes have been able to free up two international roster slots after Marvin Chavez and Mehdi Ballouchy obtained green cards.
29-year old Honduran winger Chavez and 29-year old Moroccan-born Ballouchy are now eligible as domestic players after gaining permanent residency following varied stays in the US.
Chavez, who arrived at the Quakes prior to the 2012 season, arrived on loan to FC Dallas from Marathon in 2009 and has remained in the States ever since whilst Ballouchy came to the country from his native Morocco when he was 16 and has since played with Real Salt Lake, Colorado Rapids and New York Red Bull.
