Reports in Italy suggest that Sampdoria are closing in on Everton's Samuel Eto'o.
Eto'o's agent Claudio Vigorelli indicated to Mediaset that the Serie A outfit are determined to land the Cameroon striker who only joined the Toffees in the summer.
The Genoa club, who recently sold Manolo Gabbiadini to Napoli, saw a move for Udinese's Luis Muriel fall over which has prompted them to step up their interest in former Inter Milan, Barcelona and Chelsea forward Eto'o.
It has been reported that the 33-year old has agreed an 18-month deal with Sampdoria which will see him have his wages reduced by close to 40%.
Since arriving at Goodison Park five months ago, Eto'o has scored three goals in 14 Premier League appearances for Roberto Martinez's side.
