Blackburn Rovers defender Chris Samba wants to be back for Sunday's clash with Portsmouth.
However, Samba has been given the all-clear after hospital checks and flew home, with his Rovers team-mates delaying their return by an hour to see him.
Samba was escorted to hospital by chairman John Williams and the club doctor after the scare, but the Congo international was better yesterday after a night's rest.
Blackburn are likely to leave Samba behind when they go to Greece for UEFA Cup duty, but the big defender plans to be back for the Portsmouth clash on Sunday. Rovers will have to check the timing of that return with the football authorities, but Samba is keen to play.
