Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that centre-back Mamadou Sakho will miss the FA Cup semi-final against Aston Villa this weekend.

The Reds head to Wembley to take on Villa on Sunday but will be without France international Sakho who is struggling with a hamstring injury.

Speaking at the post-match conference after the Reds beat Newcastle United on Monday, Rodgers confirmed: "Sakho will be three to four weeks, probably."

The 25-year old Frenchman was forced off in the first half of the FA Cup quarter-final replay against Blackburn Rovers last week.
