Mamadou Sakho believes that the dominating win over Thai All-Star puts Liverpool in good stead for their pre-season campaign.
Liverpool kicked off their pre-season tour of Asia and Sustralia with a 4-0 victory over the Thai All-Stars at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok on Tuesday and defender Sakho has been left very pleased with his side's display on the night.
Sakho, who scored with a header, told the club's official website: "It was a very nice win for the team. It was a good workout for us and I think we played very well. I feel happy to score but the most important thing for me is to give 100 per cent for the team, but that's the same for all of players and I think it's very good for the future.
"It was good to play in a very good stadium in front of some great supporters and it was very nice for us to be out here. I hope we can carry on with our good work we have done so far during the pre-season and get the same result in our next game."
