Bacary Sagna is prepared to fight for his place at Manchester City.

Sagna has been second fiddle to Pablo Zabaleta for much of the season, and he accepts that he needs to get better and match the Argentinian's attacking prowess in order to play more.

"My role is similar to the one I had at Arsenal - as a defender, firstly I have to defend well, close my opponent and keep a clean sheet, and as long as we don't concede a goal I am happy," he said.

"Of course, offensively I need to bring a little bit more - I need to improve, be decisive, and keep balls."
