Sagna buoyed by recent Arsenal form

Arsenal right-back Bacary Sagna was reveling in his side's recent form today.

The Frenchman helped the Gunners to a second come-from-behind win in two weeks as they defeated Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield on Saturday following the brilliant 5-2 home victory over Tottenham the week prior.

Sagna believes it shows a strong resolve within the squad and is looking to continue that winning form in the Premier League when the fourth-placed North Londoners host Newcastle United next Monday night.

"We trust each other and we promise ourselves to play whatever happens on the pitch. When you are 1-0 down it is not always easy to take, especially when it is an own goal," he told Arsenal Player.

"But we kept playing, kept fighting. We know we have a good team and we know we can score goals. It happened against Tottenham and we came back again.

"It will help the team to look forward.

"It [the win] was massive for us because they were just behind us.

"We had to win as well because, although we won against Spurs, it was not enough just to do that. We had to win away against Liverpool to help us qualify for the Champions League.

"Now they are 10 points behind us and we can breathe a bit more. Now we have to win the next game at home to Newcastle and after that we will see."
