AC Milan icon Arrigo Sacchi supports Paolo Maldini as the club's new technical director.

Sacchi is also pleased with the move for Sampdoria coach Marco Giampaolo.

“Paolo's absolutely the right man. He's close to the fans," Sacchi told Domenica Sportiva.

“The important thing will also be to give him some autonomy.

"Giampaolo's a master, he's one of those Coaches who act as both a scriptwriter and director."
