Real Madrid have unveiled Toni Rudiger as their latest summer arrival.

The Germany defender joins in a Bosman move from Chelsea and has signed a contract to 2026. Rudiger will take the No22 shirt.

He said at today's presentation: "Hello everyone. It's a very special day for me. I wanted to thank my parents, without them I wouldn't be here. Their support has been very important. I want to thank the president for giving me the opportunity to play in this great club. And I want to thank the people of Madrid for their welcome, I can promise that I will give everything. “The first time they contacted my agent was in September last year. The second time, in April, when I spoke with (Carlo) Ancelotti. It was the most important moment, that's when I decided to play for Madrid.

"He told me that I could help the team a lot and that at my age, it was already enough. Of course, I know there is competition, it's Madrid.

"There was interest from Barcelona, but I told my agent it's Madrid or nothing.

“The Clasico is the biggest game ever and even though it's a pre-season game, we want to win. I'm excited to play this game instead of watching it on TV."

Rudiger also said: "I'm not going to compare with Chelsea because all the clubs I played for are important to me. In Madrid, of course, there is pressure, but you have to take advantage of it.
