Ruben Sobrino admits he chose Manchester City over Serie ACarpi in the summer.
Sobrino, likened to Newcastle United star Ayoze Perez, left Ponferradina for City before being loaned to Girona this season.
He told TMW: "I have experienced a very long summer and negotiations with City has been anything but simple.
"There were many teams interested in me, including Carpi, who has followed me for months and I have directly observed everything.
"The departure of sporting director at Napoli, Cristiano Giuntoli made everything frustrating. When I heard about the interest of the Citizens I had no more doubts, it has crowned a dream and I must thank my agent, Hector Peris, who has helped me a lot."
