Roy on Man City shock: What was Pep doing? No reaction; no changes

Former Nice coach Eric Roy was shocked by Pep Guardiola's tactics for Manchester City's defeat to Lyon on Saturday.

City were bundled out of the Champions Leagiue 3-1 by OL.

And former Sunderland striker Roy wrote for L'Equipe: "I don't know if his thought was: 'I'm going to adapt to Lyon', but by doing that, he left his players in doubt and sent the wrong message to his team.

"Then, what surprised me the most is that he did not return to his classic 4-3-3 at half-time. I was convinced he was going to do it. He gave the impression of being stubborn in his approach. In the end, he only made two changes. There are players on the bench who could have contributed: Foden, Bernardo. Benjamin Mendy could have brought speed, crosses..."
