Fiorentina striker Giuseppe Rossi has welcomed Mario Gomez from Bayern Munich.

Gomez turned down a raft of Euro giants to sign for the Viola.

"We are fortunate to have Gomez," he told the official Serie A website. "He is a great champion.

"But we also have the likes of Ljajic, Cuadrado and Joaquin.

"The group is new, and we must find an understanding - that is our goal."
