Manchester United will further assess the situation of striker Wayne Rooney today ahead of this weekend's clash with Wigan at Old Trafford.
The 24-year old this week returned from Oregon in the US where he spent a week at the Nike training centre in a bid to get himself right, both physically and mentally.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson admitted that Rooney had fared well from the experiment and would now be given a chance to play against the Latics this Saturday.
"Wayne has had a good week in Oregon. He's done well," he told an audience at the Aspire4Sport conference in Doha, Qatar.
"Now, he's back and he will train today (Wednesday).
"We have to assess if he is ready to get into the first team. That is an area which I couldn't give you an answer because the only evidence we will have is on the training field and I'll see that tomorrow (Thursday)."
