Bury have signed John Rooney, the younger brother of Manchester United striker Wayne, on a 12-month contract. The 22 year old had previously been on trial at Gigg Lane.

The forward spent two years playing in the United States for New York Red Bulls and Orlando City, having started his career at Macclesfield.
