Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has handed president Florentino Perez a new cash dilemma. Sport says in Ronaldo's contract is a clause stating the former Manchester United star must remain the world's best paid player. However, Ronaldo is now running second behind Samuel Eto'o after his bank busting move to Anzhi last year.
Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, raised the issue with Real chiefs during negotiations over Pepe's new contract earlier this season. Mendes was assured they would address the situation later in the campaign, but so far there's been no contact since that initial meeting.
It's understood Ronaldo wants his contract re-adjusted with a bumper pay-rise and also his buyout clause eliminated. Manchester United, Manchester City and PSG are monitoring developments.
