Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu has ruled out returning to boyhood club Barcelona, reports talkSPORT. The 21-year-old joined from the La Liga side in July 2011 for a fee of around £4m but the club inserted buy-back clauses because they believed he would be progress to be a great talent.
However, in a match against Sunderland in December he suffered a serious knee injury that required surgery and was ruled out for the season.
"Yes, little has been said really. But I'm very happy here and I still have two years on my contract," he told El Iberico.
"I want to play and be happy. When Rafa Benitez arrived he gave me minutes, which is what I wanted, that's the important thing.
"There is no point of thinking about going to another club if you are not going to play.
"Playing in midfield for a club like Barca is virtually impossible. If I can make it big here I would be great."
