AS Roma striker Fabio Borini admits his call-up to the Italy squad has been a whirlwind.
Borini concedes it was "curious" to go from the Under-21 side to the senior Italy squad within a matter of hours.
"It was curious turning up to the hotel with the Under-21 side on Sunday night and then the morning after immediately setting off for Genoa so I could join the senior team," said the Roma striker.
This is his first call-up for the Azzurri at this level and he hopes to make his debut in Wednesday's friendly against the USA.
"I hope there will be space for me tomorrow as well. It would be wonderful for my career, as reaching the Nazionale is an honour and a privilege that not everyone gets to experience."
