As he recovers from ankle surgery, Roma midfielder Alberto Aquilani is determined to have a big role at next year's World Cup.

"My objective is to be there and to play at the World Cup in 2010," he told Sky Sport Italia.

"However, if I want to do that then I need to be playing regularly for Roma, so that is my first objective.

"I am looking forward to giving my all and making a contribution next year and I hope Luciano Spalletti is still my Coach."
