Radja Nainggolan has revealed that Antonio Conte wanted to sign him when he was manager of Juventus.
The AS Roma midfielder remains a firm transfer target for the Italy boss who wants him at Chelsea after this summer's European Championships.
Nainggolan, 28, is well aware of the speculation linking him with a shift to Stamford Bridge but the Belgium international remains realistic regarding his future in Rome.
"He wanted me already when he was at Juventus, but I always said I would never go to Juve," he told Belgian reporters.
"So now he wants me at Chelsea.
"He's an excellent coach and an interesting character. He has achieved excellent results with Juventus. He explained what role he sees me in.
"I'm not a player able to include twenty goals and deliver twenty assists per season, but appreciates my work in the shadows."
Regarding the move projected move to Chelsea, Nainggolan did not rule out the possibility of making his way to the Premier League.
"Otherwise, the case would be already finalised," he added.
"I will not abandon twelve years in Italy, risking to fail there. Or, I must strongly improve at all levels. For a small improvement, I stay. But we'll see."
