AS Roma captain Francesco Totti has told new GM Franco Baldini to do what it takes to keep hold of Daniele de Rossi.

De Rossi is off contract in June and a confirmed target for Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini.

"If I was Baldini I would say: 'Either you sign or else. Because you're part of the Roman Empire and you are part of this the project. So sign here - and for any figure (laughs)!'.

"I hope that Daniele will remain with Roma."
