Roma rumours intensify for Chelsea boss Ancelotti as Ranieri rejects deal

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is wanted at AS Roma after it emerged coach Claudio Ranieri has turned down a new contract offer. Corriere dello Sport says former Chelsea manager Ranieri is unhappy that despite his achievements last season Roma's prospective new President Thomas Di Benedetto is only prepared to give him a one-year rolling contract.

It's no secret that Ancelotti plans to take charge of Roma at some point during his career, though it remains to be seen whether he is ready to leave Chelsea.

Roma are in the middle of a takeover, with Di Benedetto and his American consortium due to take charge.

It's also claimed should Ranieri leave Roma, a move to Liverpool could be on, despite Kenny Dalglish's success in his caretaker role.
