Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is confident his job does not hinge on the club's Champions League status this season.
The Premier League title-holders need to beat AS Roma in Italy on Wednesday night to progress to the Round of 16 of European club football's top competition but there are some suggestions that Pellegrini could lose his job if that is not achieved.
However, the Chilean tactician is remaining calm ahead of the important Stadio Olimpico fixture and feels he is still well-placed to lead the Etihad Stadium outfit.
"I don't think so. Tomorrow is a very important game and all of us want to qualify but I don't think that what happens will have some link about the future in my club," he said.
"I have never received any kind of pressure from the club. I hope we are going to qualify but I have nothing to be (concerned) about my future here."
City, who are second on the Premier League table, have to beat Roma tomorrow night to join Bayern Munich in the next phase of the Champions League.
