Roma are believed to be lining up a move for Udinese striker Fabio Quagliarella.
The Italian international is seen as a viable replacement for Roma captain Francesco Totti, who has been plagued by injuries over recent seasons.
The interest in Quagliarella is news to Udinese, with director Pietro Leonardi pouring cold water on any transfer speculation.
Speaking with fan website ForzaRoma.info, Leonardi said: "First of all we don't even know if Quagliarella will be up for sale this summer.
"What will happen from now until June will be fundamental so at this stage no one can say anything.
"No one from Roma has contacted me and neither has Daniele Prade."
