Departing Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic will sign for AS Roma this coming week.

Matic is scheduled to have a medical ahead of signing with Roma towards the end of the week.

The Serb leaves United a year before his contract was due to expire, having been handed a free transfer.

Il Corriere dello Sport says he will arrive on either Monday or Tuesday on a private plane from Serbia with his wife and two daughters, who will visit the city ahead of the potential move.

Matic's contract is for one year and worth €4.2 million with the option for a 12-month extension based on appearances.
