Roma loan signing Gini Wijnaldum will not play again this year.

The PSG loanee suffered a leg fracture in training last week just days into his move.

Offered the option of surgery, Wijnaldum has decided to avoid the table and instead will work on his recovery without going under the knife.

La Gazzetta dello Sport says the midfielder will be out for 3-4 months, so he will miss the World Cup with Holland and also the remainder of 2022.

Wijnaldum is on a season-long loan at Roma with an €8m option.
