Roma director Gian Paolo Montali has slammed Lazio after their defeat to Inter Milan last night. The Biancocelesti fans had urged their team to lose against Inter in order to ruin Roma's Scudetto chances.

When Walter Samuel and Thiago Motta scored, the entire stadium erupted in celebration, while the second half was little more than a kick about session.

"I never thought my eyes would witness anything like what I saw tonight," said Montali.

"I never imagined it even before this game kicked off. I think this evening Inter and their Coach were visibly embarrassed.

"We cannot blame Inter, they have nothing to do with it, but today I feel so much was lost.

"Lazio lost, but the real losers were the sport and above all Italian football."
