Roma will offer Radja Nainggolan an improved contract in a bid to prevent him from going to Chelsea, reports the London Evening Standard.
The Serie A club have rejected two offers from Chelsea for the Belgium midfielder, the last of which was worth up to £27.4million.
Nainggolan has confirmed he has met new Chelsea coach Antonio Conte, who will take charge after his role with Italy ends at Euro 2016, for talks over a move.
The 28-year-old wants a pay rise. He is on £70,000 a week at Roma and Chelsea will increase that to at least £100,000 a week.
But Roma are determined not to lose another star player and are prepared to increase Nainggolan's salary.
They are planning to hold discussions with his agent after Euro 2016, which is also when Chelsea hope to conclude a deal.
