Roma coach Claudio Ranieri rapped midfielder Rodrigo Taddei for his red card in their defeat to Udinese.

Taddei saw red during their 2-1 defeat to Udinese, the third on the trot for this troubled club in Serie A.

Ranieri remarked: "He says he was hit in the face, but evidently he said something to the linesman. There are no justifications for such a thing, Taddei should've bitten his tongue.

"In any case the lads will emerge from this difficult time. I have a fantastic set of players and they are putting all the effort in. They're playing the same way they did in the past and had success, whereas now they don't win and can't figure out why."
