AS Roma boss Vincenzo Montella was critical of Jeremy Menez's performance in their Coppa Italia failure against Inter Milan last night.
Menez disappointed and some noted that Roma's performance improved after he was replaced.
"He gave it his all, but we do expect more from Menez in terms of consistency and quality. I don't think the side improved because Menez went off, as before we were lacking courage and pace," said Montella.
"I thought about fielding Menez with Mirko Vucinic and Borriello, but I didn't have a real alternative on the bench and didn't want to risk it."
