AS Roma captain Francesco Totti was delighted with his latest record in victory over Genoa.
Totti converted an early penalty to become joint second all-time Serie A top scorer on 225 goals.
"I wanted this goal at all costs and I managed to get it in front of my people," said the man who caught Gunnar Nordahl on 225 top flight strikes.
"I am happy with this important achievement, which is a sign of my love for the Roma jersey.
"Now personal satisfaction must be set aside, because there are another difficult 45 minutes ahead of us. We must react and be a team to bring home the victory."
